FROX •
I ' MEMORANDUM
T0: Mike Hart - Flatiron Companies
FROM: sob ldrogden
DATE: Auqust 4, 1977
N o.2+.1951+~+5
JOB k2071.P.00
SUBJECT: Well Locations and Water Table Drawdowns,
Greeley West travel operation
Enclosed please find a map and a list of wells that are located in
the vicinity of xour gravel operations. Numbers on the list are
keyed to numbers on th6 map. Both the list and the map may help
you determine which wells Flntirona Company owns and which wells
may be impacted by the drawdowna. There may be additional wells
in the area because of the large number of houses shown on the map.
P.10
We have calculated the drawdowns that will extend up gradient from
the lake. The drawflowns will be Created by forming an outlet from
the lake to the Cache la Poudre River whicYr will lower the lake level.
For the purpose of calculations we assume that a lowering of five
feet was all that cpuld be obtained by gravity drainage. Of course,
a pump may be used to lower the water level even more and the draw-
downs will be prpportionately greater. The drawdowns extending up
gradient or to the west end south from the lake are shown in the
table below:
DRAWDOWNS AT DISTANCES FROM LAKE EDGE
Distance, in Feet Drawdown, in Feet Peroent Water Available
Lake Edge 5 l3
500 3.6 9
1000 2.2 6
1500 1.0 3
1875 0 0
The table indicates that moat of the drawdown occurs within SOO feet
of the lake. TherC will be no drawdown or no impact on water levels
at distances greater than 1875 feet from the lake. When the magni-
tude of these drawdowns are compared with the magnitude of the water
r'C1 LconerdRlcaConsutlingWnlerEnoineele,Inc.
