Heather McLaughlin of Routt <br />County was prosent at the inspection. <br />The Funk and Hooker Pit is the Routl County pit that is actively boing mined by the county. Stockpiles of sorted malarial oxisl <br />in the central part of tha pit with mining proceeding toward tho south and east. A berm of unmined material axists to tho east to <br />serve as visual control. This berm of matenal will bo mined out to daylight the pit in This direction at the end of mining. Topsoil <br />and overburden are stockpiled to the south in separate pates The operator is encouraged to continue this practice The topsoil <br />pile has bean seeded and perennial grasses are starting to establish. <br />Mining will continue to the south and then to the west in the future. <br />A sedrmenl pond Is located at the north entrance of the site and appears to be functioning. Generally, all disturbed area <br />drainage is directed into tho active pri area and Then routed through the sediment pond. From there any drainage flows off sde <br />and to the north.
