Box 966 <br />Castle Rock CO <br />MLRB Permit # M-1983-089 <br />April 14, 2005 <br />Disturbed Area; <br />Currently the Mine Site of 41A is divided into two areas. <br />The operation area (trailer, roads, 3 stockpiles, and settling ponds). <br />The Mining Area (22.84 Acres) is currently disturbed as follows. <br />The mining is progressing from the Northwest corner to the East along <br />the Northernmost boundary in a 400' wide strip. It will take at least 2 <br />more years to complete this area to the east berm <br />The first 1.2 A is backfilled to rough contour with the pit area of 1.6A . <br />proceeding east ahead of the fill 1 A is striped preceding the Pit another <br />3 Acres is in various states of grubbing, topsoiling etc. The remaining <br />17.04 A is covered with stockpiles and is relatively flat, and approximate <br />the final contour. 60% of the operations area has no vegetation. Once <br />the pit is "squared up" it will be possible to mine with both the <br />stripping/mining an backfilling at a 3 to 1 slope as the pit progresses <br />east with the backfill progressing behind. <br />Basically 3 Acres is disturbed as to contours with the remaining <br />area flat with little vegetation. Topsoil is being piled at strategic <br />locations to facilitate revegatation with a minimum of moving, 4 areas <br />with soil piles are noted on the attached map in addition to the soil in <br />the East Berm. Unused areas are being topsoiled and seeded as the <br />work progresses. <br />
