The results of this
inspection and the office visit dialog are detailed below.
Regarding the access road, our investigation revealed that the proposed road design would
exceed our maximum slope tolerances. As specified in our previous correspondence, we require
an engineering report of the access road showing how it would be built to BLM standards.
Darryl was given BLM's Gold Book which defines road constmction requirements for a BLM
resource road and agreed that it would be in the best interest to have the route surveyed by a third
party surveyor and to have the road designed to meet the engineering standards in the Gold
Book. Upon acceptance of the road construction plan and inspection of the surveyed route we
will proceed with completion of the EA.
The BLM will also need to review your proposal for containing dust and maintaining air quality
standards, and for maintaining water quality from site and access runoff. We understand you are
required by the State to obtain air quality and water discharge permits and these proposed plans
should be included in your application so they can be reviewed and be included in our
environmental review.
During our site visit it was determined that the proposed mining area may be habitat for raptors.
A raptor inventory report is going to be required for this project. The BLM has agreed to
undertakeShis task we will schedule the inventory to be completed approximately, mid June,
~~
