OBSERVATIONS
This was a monitoring inspection done by Carl Mount as part of the Division
of Minerals and Geology routine inspection program. Photographs were taken
of the permitted area and surrounding areas. The site disturbance was
evaluated and determined to be included within the marked permit area.
There is not much change in this pit since the 1995 inspection. Stockpiles
of oversize rock are to the north with the mine highwall to the west.
Stockpiles of sorted roadbase are in the middle of the pit. The eastern part
of the pit has been regraded, topsoiled and seeded and is showing good
establishment of pubescent wheatgrass and minor amounts of other perennial
grasses. Not much topsoil is stockpiled at this pit but not much was
available in the first place.
No problems were noted during this inspection.
