<br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />BNow are comments on the Inspsctlon. Tha comments Include dbcusslon of <br />obsarvatbns roads during the Insps~ction. Comments also describe any enforcement <br />actions taken during the Inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the <br />enforcement cation. <br />This was a partial Inspsctlon of the Edro Strip Mine. The weetfier was deer end warm, <br />although the proved and roads were damp because of heavy rains the previous day. The mine <br />was accessible by the Moffat North Roed. <br />Roads <br />The Moffat Area roads were In good corrdttlon end well melnteined. The ditch at the <br />Supenxrve functioned well during the recent rdna. <br />Mdrrterw~ca work-tms bean udertakar an the ditdws abrq the Oost Trill. Culvert TA-1 <br />appears to have been replaced by a berm/ditch combination. No addftlonel slurripepe was <br />abaervsd in the upper conveyor corridor. <br />Hydrolooic lielance <br />The West Ridge pond, the Center Rldps pond end the Moffat Area pond were dieclrerpinp. The <br />dlsdierpe was dear. <br />The bvver seven West Ridge ponds were inspected. All contained water end water was fbwing <br />between them until about the third from the bottom. The d>an,ela are steWe, although some <br />erosion was observed. <br />The Wast Ridge spoil aprirq was fbwinp into the Kill Ditch and mbdnp with the disclarpe from <br />the Center Ridge pond. The fbw from the spoil springs in the Moffat Area has decreased <br />sipnlfkbrrtly skrce my lest kispection in May. <br />Beckfi8ina and Gredina <br />Repents have been uderteken on the gully d,srs,ei in the recldmed conveyor corridor. A strew <br />much was agreed M the corridor. Water bars were oorrstructed across the oorrldor end the <br />outNde of the water bas were covered whh press sod. This combination of treatments wee <br />effective during the recent heavy storms. <br />Rsveaetetion <br />Weeds were being sprayed duAnp this Inspection. The contractor was spraying the Moffat <br />North Reed oaridor . <br />
