e <br />111. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the La Plata Coal Mine for the month of September, 1996. <br />The two main sediment traps are now full of sediment thus they will require cleaning. The <br />upper reach of the main drainage channel will require some maintenance where the massive run- <br />off eroded the ground under the erosion mat. The old access road that was recently reclaimed <br />will need to be scarified and reseeded and at the upper reach, a small berm will need to be <br />constructed to divert run-off to the ditch rather than down the road. <br />The revegetation at the site continues to do well despite the dry conditions experienced this <br />summer. Once the reclamtion work accomplished this summer firmly establishes itself, the site <br />will be recommened for a reduced inspection frequency schedule. <br />
