Processine waste: There aze two coal waste piles at the Eagle Mines. Both are inactive and no new <br />material has been placed on either pile. No problems were noted with either waste pile. <br />Revegetation/Reclamation Success: The Empire mine complex consists of an underground mine and <br />reclaimed surface mined areas. The Williams Fork Strip Pit is a reclaimed surface mine. Vegetation <br />throughout the Williams Fork area is in good condition. Erosional features are not evident throughout <br />the reclaimed site. Mule deer are plentiful in the Williams Fork reclaimed area. The reclamation <br />status of the Utah tract was discussed with the operator during this inspection. <br />Vegetation report in response to Stipulation #10 has recently been received by DMG. The Division <br />has not reviewed the data. Stipulation # ] 0 is still a part of the permit. <br />Wildlife: The inspection was conducted during large game hunting season. Mule deer and Pronghorn <br />were observed throughout the mine site. The operator intercepted two parties of unauthorized hunters. <br />General Mine Plan Compliance: Minimal activity is occurring on the mine site. The operator <br />discussed the potential for shutting down the mine ventilation system in the coming year. Few <br />maintenance items were identified and records are generally up-to-date. Please note the items <br />previously mentioned in this report as needing attention. <br />The mine site is in good condition overall. <br />Page 4 of_5 11/14/01 <br />
