III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />On September 28, ]996 at approximately 1300, Harry Ranney from the Divi- <br />sion of Minerals and Geology completed a partial aerial inspection at the <br />Bowie #l Mine. <br />Roads: <br />Roads on both sites appear to be in good condition. <br />Hydrologic Balance: <br />• Ponds #1 and #2 contain water well below the spillways. <br />• From the photos, it is impossible to determine if there is any water i n <br />ponds #3 and #4, however no water is flowing over the spillways. <br />• The GOB pile pond contains water, but is not flowing over the spillway. <br />• "Che west mine sedimentation pond also contains water, but is not over- <br />flowing its spillway. <br />To soil: <br />All the visible topsoil piles have good vegetative cover at this time. <br />
