.. <br />INSPECTION REPORT - PAGE 2 <br />FILE N0. 80-80 <br />DATE: October 7, 1983 <br />OBSERVATIONS OF IMPORTANCE: <br />1. Corn Construction is operator on the site. <br />2. Operator is using an asphalt plant for I-70 construction. <br />3. Operator has mined the west one-third of the property and has done an <br />excellent job of sloping the pit walls to a maximum 3h :l v. <br />4. Number of stockpiles currently at the site, but will be used for the I-70 <br />construction. <br />5. Topsoil has been salvaged and is located on the northeast side of the <br />process area. <br />6. Two overburden/reject piles have been located on process area and will be <br />used for slope configuration purposes. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />1. Operator is doing an excellent job at this site in sloping the pit area. <br />2. To maintain soil quality and quantity, the topsoil stockpile should not be <br />left at the angle of repose, but sloped to a minimum 2h :l v. Also, if the <br />stockpile does last for more than a yrowing season, the pile should be seeded. <br />PVOC/tlh <br />Doc. No. 6174 <br />
