The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection of the Hayden Gulch Mine conducted by Jim Stark of
CDMG. The mine has gone through a Phase I and Phase II Bond Release on all but
approximately nine acres. The mine is currently in its tenth year of liability. The
weather was cool and sunny the ground was dry.
Shrub parcel HG-08 was well vegetated and appeared stable at the time of the
inspection. The pond contained water and was discharging at the time of the
inspection although the pond is no longer a part of the HG Mine permit. There were
no erosional problems noted on the site.
The 1997 slump area was stable at the time of the inspection. Ali of the stakes along
the top of the slump area were still in alignment. There were no erosional problems
noted on the area.
Shrub parcel E was stable and well vegetated at the time of the inspection. No
erosional problems were noted on the parcel.
The road to shrub parcels HG-08, E and the 1997 slump area was rutted slightly but
appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection.
Shrub parcel 003 was well vegetated and appeared to be stable at the time of the
inspection. There were no erosional problems noted on the parcel. Pond 003
contained water but was not discharging at the time of the inspection.
