III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the
inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
On January 20, 1995, a partial inspection was conducted at the permanently
reclaimed Bourg Strip Mine. Present during the inspection was Wally Erickson, the
new lead specialist for this mine. This winter has been dry; snow depths were shallow
and the south facing ridges were dry. The mine site was walked in a counter
clockwise direction starting at the entrance gate. The entrance to the mine was
signed appropriately. The permanent gully was walked past the permanent office
facilities pad. The permanent gully's rock check dams were intact and working. No
erosion was noted and the gully was vegetated. The reclaim around the east side
was walked and no concerns were noted. Mann Draw was walked; vegetation was
heavy and there was no indication that there was siltation from the mine site.
This mine was observed to be in compliance with the Rules and with the terms of the
permit.
