The operator's representative says this pond is planned for cleaning this year.
Flumes were in good condition in all drainages.
Spoil springs - Spring 99-2 was dry. No Name Spring was discharging an
estimated 10 gpm. Field parameters were: temperature 10 degrees C., pH 6. 9,
Ec 2100. An orange-colored, probable iron oxide has accumulated on some of the
vegetation within 10 feet of the spring's discharge point. The spring was
discharging from only a single point.
Ground Water Monitoring Wells - The following wells had caps in place had i.d.
marks, and surface casing was in good condition: GC-1, GC-2, GC-3,P-5, J-1, GF-
5, GE-1, GE-2, and GE-3.
SACKFILL AND GRADING
D pit is working on the last cut before it reaches E pit. E pit remains open
for backfilling with ash.
No problems were found in the active ash dump area in Ash pit (former A pit).
EXPLOSIVES AND SVPPORT FACILITIES
No problems were found in the explosives storage magazine, the ANFO loading
facility, or the facilities yard area. The hazardous waste storage area was in
good order.
GENERAL MSNE PLAN CCd~LIANCE
The amount of area stripped ahead of the pits appears to comply with Trapper's
approved operation plan. Over the last few months mining in A-E pit has passed
relatively quickly through West Flume drainage into Middle Flume drainage. This
is consistent with the operation plan as shown on Map M-9 of the permit.
REVEGETATION
vegetation is just beginning to turn green in places.
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION
The operator was spraying water on haul roads for dust control, and no dust was
found leaving the permit area despite windy periods during the inspection.
SMALL AREA EXEI+lPTIONS
Small area exemption 7 could not be reached due to snow cover.
Page 5
