III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was an aerial inspection of the HG Mine. The photographs were taken by Harry
Ranney of CDMG. The report was written by Jim Stark of CDMG. The weather
appeared to be clear and dry.
The three fenced shrub parcel appear to be well vegetated and in good condition.
Although it is difficult to determine the overall success of the shrubs themselves from
the photographs, it is easy to see that the shrub clumps within the parcels are doing
well.
Both ponds (which pre permitted as permanent ponds) contain water but do not
appear to be discharging at this time. The ponds are well vegetated and appear to
be stable, The road into the East Side of the site (also a permanent feature) also
appears to be stable.
The 1994 slump area appears to be stable. It is not possible to see the alignment
spikes in these photographs but there is no evidence of any earth movement in the
photographs. There do not appear to be any wet spots on the ground, either, which
would indicate drainage from the discharge pipes on the French Drains.
Overall the mine site appears to be in good condition.
