Significant storm runoff during the last 30-60 days has delivered a substantial amount of sediment
to the pond. Poor hydrologic cover and the lack of live vegetation due to the extended drought is
likely a contributing factor to the large amount of sediment that has accumulated in the pond
during the last year. The operator should evaluate the sediment level in the pond and take the
necessary measures to ensure that the pond has the capacity to treat nrnoff to effluent limitations
imposed by the CDPS discharge permit.
Slides and Damaoe
Other photographs reviewed of the reclaimed area indicate rill and gully formation continues,
especially on the refuse slope. Contour furrows will likely require maintenance in the near future.
4 ~
..
~~ ..
~~ `~.•
~1 ~`_
~~ -..
1. ` _ = ~ =
~~ a~~ `~ ~~ -~
Page 4
Overall, the site appeared in fair condition.
