, <br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the Edna Mine conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division <br />of Minerals and Geology. No one else was present. The weather was warm and the ground was dry. The <br />entrance gate on North Road was locked. <br />ROADS <br />The following roads were in excellent condition: North Road, Lower Moffat Road, West <br />Ridge Road, and Skyline Drive. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE <br />Inslopes and embankments of the following three ponds were well-vegetated, were not <br />rilled or Bullied, and appeared stable: Moffat pond, Center Ridge pond, and West Ridge <br />pond. The flume at NPDES 007 was in good operating order. <br />I measured the following field parameters. A herd of domestic sheep was grazing near the Moffat pond. What <br />appeared to be the sheepherder was seen near a pickup truck camper topper that was set up next to <br />West Ridge road beneath the powerline in SEA/< Sec. 24-4N-86W. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS <br />Vegetation is greening up on the site. There were no signs of excessive erosion on reclaimed areas. <br />Reclaimed slopes appeared stable. <br />
