(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1985-085
INSPECTION DATE 10/17/05 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS RCO
- --- - -- OBSERVATIONS- - ------ -- --- - --
This inspection was performed by the Division as part of its monitoring of Construction Materials 112c permits. The Division
attempted to contact the operator by telephone voice mail about the inspection. There was no one resent during the inspection.
The required permit ID sign was posted near the locked gate at the SW corner of the site. There was an open gate at the SE
corner of tfie site, but site access for the inspection was on foot. The site was not active at the time of the inspection, though
there has been activity at the site since the last inspection (11119/01).
The pit sideslopes and floor have been graded, and the metal and debris has been removed from the site. There is still
stockpiled gravel west of the pit, and about a half acre that is gravel covered. The final reclamation will require this gravel to be
removed.
There are large topsoil piles south and east of the pit. There is rabbitbrush and thin grasses growing on the topsoil, as well as
some tumbleweed, but this is not a problem. The south edge of the pit cannot advance closer to the boundary, and this would
bean area where some reclamation could logically occur: respread topsoil and seed it. The approved mining plan is phased,
and the operator is aware that reclamation should not be carried out where future activities could damage reclaimed areas.
Prior to disturbing new areas the phased plan should be reviewed and new affected area boundaries should be marked.
The posted bond is $25,000. The last bond recalculation showed reclamation costs to be less than $20,000. Another bond
recalculation is now due to be performed. Though some of the bonded tasks have now been carried out, certain unit costs
have risen, so it is not clear yet whether there will be a lower overall reclamation cost. New figures will be sent to the operator
when they are prepared.
There was no equipment, no contamination, no noxious weeds, and no debris; it is a clean and orderly site.
No further items were observed during the inspection. Responses to this inspection report should be directed to the Division of
Minerals and Geology, 701 Camino del Rio, Room 125, Durango, Colorado 81301, Attn: Bob Oswald; phone no. 970-247-5193.
I & E Contact Address
NAME
OPERATOR
STREET
CITY/STATE/ZI P
Garv Bovice
Rancho Rosado
17425 CR 66T
Moffat.
