The roadway ramps on either side of the
channel crossing must have sufficient height, however, so that containment of runoff is not compromised. The operator
stated that he would also like to include concrete aprons and roadway crossing ramps, instead of large riprap. If the
operator wishes to make these changes, the appropriate engineering evaluation, construction details and drawings must be
submitted for review.
The backfilling and grading work on the north buffer strip, performed by the operator as part of another corrective action
earlier this summer, was still in place. The hay was still spread on the upper slope, though no revegetation was apparent
yet. If no seed germination shows by this fall, another seeding will be required there. The lower end of the buffer strip,
behind the storage trailer, was cleared of trees but not excavated. It did not require grading, but requires revegetation. It
has not been seeded yet at all. At the time of the inspection, a dozer was parked there. The operator must move the dozer
off the buffer strip, and store it in an approved location in the permit. All remaining portions of the buffer that have not
been seeded must be seeded with the approved seed mix at the approved rates. All broadcast seed should be raked or
dragged to incorporate it to improve germination, and covered with straw.
No new problems were found during the inspection, though there are certain items that will require attention and follow-up
later this season las described in this report). No further items were observed or discussed during the inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to the Division of Minerals and Geology, 701 Camino del Rio, Room
125, Durango, Colorado 81301, Attn: Bob Oswald; phone no. 970-247-5193.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Lvnn Olin
OPERATOR Bridal Veil Construction
STREET PO Box 1821
CITY/STATE/ZIP Ourav.
