III. Comments/Compliance
This was a partial inspection conducted by Jim Burnell of CDMG on the afternoon of
Wednesday, March 5, 2003. This site was quiet and deserted. The weather was cold and
sunny after a strong snowstorm the previous day and night.
At the East Mine, the area below the road that was amended last year was completely
covered with up to 15 inches of fresh snow. There was no evidence of erosion at the bottom
of the slope.
The road ditches were filled with snow. The road itself was in still snow-covered with some
rockfall. The area above the road showed no evidence of instability or erosion. It was also
snow-covered.
At the Middle Mine, there was likewise a good snow cover. There were no signs of erosion
or instability that haven't been there before.
At the West Mine, the vegetation is excellent, with thick grasses and numerous shrubs.
The pond was filled with snow. Pond embankments were stable. There was no evidence
of siltation escaping from the site. The river was frozen over at that location and there was
nothing on the ice.
