(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1977-129
INSPECTION DATE 9-7-2006
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS
This joint inspection with BLM staff (Bruce Fowler and Robin Lacy) was conducted to evaluate success of the reclamation
performed on stages X, Y and 1 during the fall of 2004.
Reclamation tasks, per the specifications stated in Technical Revision No. 2, were completed on stages X, Y and 1 during the
fall of 2004. Areas of these phases that are to be revegetated were pocked and seeded during late September, early October.
Fall through spring of 2004/2005 experienced above normal precipitation. The resulting vegetation establishment has been
very successful. The vast majority of the pocks experienced early establishment (by July 2005) of various combinations of
plant species in the seed mix. Indian ricegrass, streambank wheatgrass, and four-wing saltbush are the species most notable
at this time though other species from the mix were observed scattered across the site. Many of these plants are mature now,
after two years of growth, with well developed seed heads. Vegetative establishment remains more successful on Stage Y and
1, though Stage X was much improved thanks to reseeding efforts in the central part of that Stage.
Establishment of desirable perennial species has apparently reduced the amount of weedy, annual vegetative cover and should
continue to do so. The percent of vegetative cover made up of desirable perennial species appears to be much greater that
that of the adjacent non-mined lands that are covered primarily cheatgrass, kochia and other annual weedy species.
No significant erosional features were noted on the affected areas of Stages X, Y, and 1. The inflow/outflow structures and
pond embankments of Stage 1 appeared stable.
DRMS and BLM staff agreed that Stages X, Y and 1 appeared to meet the reclamation specifications required for this site.
DRMS recommends that W hitewater Building Materials submit Acreage Reduction Request No. 2 for Release of these stages
from Permit No. M-1977-129. The request must be made per the requirements of Rule 4.17 of the Construction Materials
Rules and Regulations.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Steve Shuey at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3`d Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone number 970-243-6368.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Mr. Mark Gardner
OPERATOR Whitewater Building Materials Corp.
STREET P.
