Box 117
Paonia, Colorado 81428
County: Delta
Inspection Date: June 26, 1984
Type of Operation: Private
Inspector: Dan Mathews and Candy Thompson
Weather: Clear and warm
Time: 2:00 P.M.
Type of Inspection: Complete
Operator Contact: Rick Chilton and Gary Harding
I. General Comments
No violations were observed during the inspection. One blocked culvert was
cleaned out by the operator during the inspection.
Subsequent to the inspection, Mr. Bob Kuretich who lives and farms adjacent to
the load-out (west of the permit area) was contacted. Mr. Kuretich had
requested that we stop by as he wanted us to be aware of problems he had
experienced with coal dust blowing from the load-out into his orchards. On
the day of the inspection the operator was watering the yard frequently and
dust was being suppressed. Mr. Kuretich stated that blowing dust had been a
problem in the past - particularly coal dust coating apples on the trees.
Mr, Kuretich was advised that should the situation reoccur, he could file a
complaint and request an inspection.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
