III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This partial inspection of the Coal Gulch Mine was conducted by DRMS staff from the Durango Office, <br />701 Camino del Rio, Room 125, Durango, CO 81301, (970) 247-5469. The permit was revoked in a <br />previous decade; financial warranty was forfeited and utilized for final reclamation. One photo <br />accompanies this report. <br />No activities were observed; no individuals were contacted during the inspection <br />A comparison of the photo taken during the inspection with the photos taken during the February 27, <br />2007 inspection, verify that equipment and debris continues to be imported and stockpiled within <br />reclaimed areas. Recently imported equipment and debris includes: 3semi-truck trailers, 2 fuel <br />storage tanks, several fifty-five gallon barrels, assorted pieces of concrete culvert, boulders and <br />timbers, and various scrap metal and discarded tires and debris. <br />Sediment pond was dry. Primary and secondary spillways for the pond had previously been removed <br />by landowner activities. <br />
