Revegetation <br />The growing season is winding down at this longitude and latitude. Flowering species are <br />few and vegetation is drying down as the fall season approaches. Cover is excellent due to <br />abundant moisture this year. No trespass grazing has been observed so far this season. <br />Species diversity is excellent at this site. Next year will be the ninth growing season for this <br />site <br />Offsite Suooort Facd~ties <br />The two former New Elk mine ventilation shaft facilities in Apache Canyon were inspected. <br />These two small areas are the subjects of a pending revision (TR-56) requesting a change in <br />land use to Industrial for these two areas. Construction of roads to access methane gas <br />wells has encroached on these two areas. Especially at the upper site, more than half of the <br />reclaimed area has been stripped of vegetation due to this construction. <br />No changes have occurred at the NW-1 ventilation shaft on private land north Highway 12 <br />The site remains prepped for future sealing of the shaft. <br />The concrete cap on the upper vent has been repaired. A larger cap has been poured over <br />the existing cap to seal cracks that developed over time at this former shaft. The fence <br />surrounding the cap was in good condition and the gate was padlocked. <br />
