Box 1447 <br />Durango, Colorado 81301 <br />RE: Animas River Channel Profile, Animas Aggregates Inc., Thompson Pit, <br />M-76-020 <br />Dear Mr. Gordon: <br />Per our telephone conversation of 7/22/91 the Division requests Animas <br />Aggregates Inc. to provide a channel profile of the Animas River approximately <br />800' upstream and 800' downstream from the permit area and including the part <br />of the channel within the permit area. <br />In the profile on channel geometry the Division requests that the following <br />information be included: <br />1) Average width of channel; <br />2) Average depth of channel; <br />3) Depth of channel where the dredging is to take place; <br />4) Average channel slope; <br />5) Average side slopes of the embankment. <br />Due to recent complaints received by the Division from adjacent land owners <br />the Division feels the information is important for future evaluation of the <br />channel. The operator is to provide this information before any dredging is <br />to take place in the river.
