ORIGINAL - PURLIC FILE
(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn_iaan-~aa
INSPECTION DATE: 't/3~10s INSPECTORCS INITIALS: ~-
OBSERVATION
The Division conducted a bi monthly monitoring inspection of the site on
3/31/05. The area had received approximately 8 to 12 inches of snow the
night before with drifts ranging anywhere from 2 to 4 feet in certain
areas. The wind at the time of the inspection was blowing so hard, it
limited visibility to approximately 100feet.
Inspected the area above Squaw Gulch where topsoil was being stripped in
anticipation of the expansion of the overburden storage area. Again due to
poor visibility, the location was observed from the haul road.
Inspected the phase I, II, III AND IV leach pad areas and collected the
following readings from the Hhigh and Low volume solution collection
transducers.
Phase I high Volume Solution Collection transducer # 2 was recorded at 33.9
and # 3 was at 33.5-. Low volume transducer # 1 was recorded at .29 and # 2
was at .52. Piezometer for the pond was at 36.5 feet.
Phase II high Volume Solution Collection Transducer # 4 was at 28.3 # 5 was
at 28.7 and # 6 was at 28.8. Low volume transducer # 1 was at .13 and # 2
was at.55. Piezometer for the pond was recorded at 29.5. feet.
Phase IV High Volume Solution Collection Transducer # 7 was recorded at
13.8 # 8 was at 12.9 # 9 was at 13.8 and # 10 was at 14.1.Low volume
solution collection transducer # 1 was at 7.1 and # 2 was 7.0 inches of
hydrostatic head.
Inspected the External pond, it was holding frozen water covered with the
fresh snow from the night before. While in the area, collected the
following readings from the low volume solution collection transducers. # 1
was recorded at 13.4 and # 2 was at 11.2 inches of hydrostatic head. (All
other readings are in feet of hydrostatic head unless noted otherwise
noted)
After the inspection a brief discussion was held at the mine office
regarding the pending TR for the east Cresson Haul road. Lowe Billingley,
Technical Services Manager explained CC&V' wish to backfill the East
Cresson mine to original Pre-mining contour. CC&V was planning to backfill
the pit approximately 200 feet below original contour under Amendment # 8.
However, now that the East Cresson Expansion has been approved, CC&V felt
it would be easier for them to backfill the pit to original contour.
