III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was an aerial inspection flown by Harry Ranney of the Colorado Division of Minerals
and Geology. Kent Gorham of CDMG reviewed four oblique aerial photographs in the office
on July 30, 2003. This former underground mine is reclaimed. Remaining buildings and
structures are approved to remain as permanent structures. The weather was clear during
the flight and resolution on the photographs was excellent.
Roads
The main access road into the site was clearly visible. It appeared in good condition. No
rutting or damage due to recent storm events was evident. Surfacing seems to be good in all
areas. The road crossing f#1 did not appear muddy and any flows passed this location with
no downcutting or rutting in the road surface.
~. ~ ~~~
~Z,'~-F~'.-9
~•
-„`
Hvdrolooic Balance
The single sediment pond held water in the southern end that was cleaned of sediment at
the first of this year. Inspection of the outlet channel visible in one of the aerial photographs
revealed the pond was not discharging. No damage was noted to the pond embankment
and the emergency spillway appeared normal.
