• (Page 21
•
MINE ID k OR PROSPECTING ID !f M-1992-049
INSPECTION DATE 2-20-2001 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) monitoring program for permitted
mines in Colorado.
This site still appears to be undisturbed by post-permit issuance mining activity. The operator indicated that they will most
likely submit a release request for this site in the near future.
The problem regarding lack of a mine identification sign and permit boundary markers, noted in DMG's 10-7-1998
inspection report, has not been corrected and is still a problem that must be corrected. The operator has until March 16,
2001 to post a mine identification sign at the site entrance. Placement of affected area markers will not be required unless
mining operations are to be initiated. Photographic documentation of sign installation, in compliance with Rule 3.1.12,
must be submitted to DMG no later than March 16, 2001.
A 4-8 inch layer of snow covered much of the site preventing any weed identification.
No significant erosional features were noted on the affected areas of the site.
The financial warranty remains adequate since the site is inactive. However, the reclamation cost estimate will need to
be recalculated before mining begins at this site to ensure the financial warranty is adequate to reclaim any proposed
disturbance.
Right of entry to this site must be secured from the current landowner, as specified in the October 7, 1998 inspection
report.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Steve Shuey at the Division's Durango Field Office. The address
is; Division of Minerals and Geology, 701 Camino del Rio, Room 125, Durango, Colorado 81301, phone no. 970-247-5062.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Charles Ponchak
OPERATOR Peck, Inc.
STREET P. 0.
