i I <br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Joe Dudash of the Colorado Division of Minerals and <br />Geology. Bill Bear represented the operator. <br />Facilities <br />The.consttuction of the downhill conveyor and truck loading facilities continues. The work is <br />about 40 percent complete. The sections of conveyor tunnel that ]ie underground have been <br />completed. <br />f. <br />Hvdroloev <br />There was very little water in pond B. A small amount of coal fines found their way into the <br />pond. The operator has not installed the guazd rail between pond B and the old highway 133 yet. <br />Pond D was dry. The water level in pond C was just above the primary tube. Pond embankments <br />and pond inslopes appeared to be stable. <br />The collection ditch, culverts and silt fence at the mine site entrance azea were all functional. <br />Gob Pile <br />There were a few small gob piles to the back of the gob pile. The operator will grade and <br />compact them later. There was positive drainage on top of the gob pile. The underdrain opening <br />was exposed. The Swale and culvert at the entrance to the gob pile were functional. <br />Roads <br />The paved haul road section that had been temporarily diverted for the construction of one <br />conveyor tunnel section has been resumed to its original position. <br />The gob pile haul road was in good condition. <br />c: Uns971bowie2~ nsp0900 <br />
