(Page 2) <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: mt-1 Q78-7Fir, <br />INSPECTION DATE: 04/9/04 INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: TQC <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />1. A site inspection of the Riley Pit was made as part of the Division's on-going 4-year inspection progrem. The site is <br />located approximately 4 miles northwest of Gould in Jackson County Present during the inspection was Mr Nelson <br />Selcer, Supervisor of the Jackson County Road & Bridge Departrnent. <br />2. The Riley Pit is permitted for a total of 3.844 acres. Mining is active at the Riley Pit. A majority of the site is disturbed, <br />with all disturbances being within the permit boundary. The operator is excavating into a hillside, resulting in a 20-25' <br />highwall. Reclamation will mnsist of disturbed slopes graded to a configuration of 5:1, topsoil respread at a depth of 4- <br />6", and revegetated to rangeland with a grass mix._ Approximately 1/S of the site has already been graded to <br />reclamation contours. The operator has posted a performance warranty. There is no financial warranty required per Rule <br />4.1.2(2). <br />3. An entrance sign was posted and permit boundary markers have been established per Rule 3.1.12. <br />4. Mr. Selcer indicated that Jackson County will be submitting an application for a conversion to a Regular 112 Operation <br />during 2004. <br />5.
