~' - <br /> <br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the King Coal Mine for the month of August, 1996. <br />The new stoker coal bin is finished. The old stoker coal bin has been removed and the area has <br />been cleaned up. It remains to be seen how the new structure will function without spillage of <br />the oil sprayed on the coal. <br />The coal that was deposited, by the recent 100+ year precipitation event, on the pasture below <br />the mine site, was cleaned up. The coal was removed down to bare dirt without any major <br />disturbance due to muddy conditions. <br />The culverts and ditches on site have been cleaned and(or replaced as necessary. All other <br />problems resulting from the large precipitation event have been rectified. <br />The diversion ditch around the coal waste pile is in place and functional. Grading of the top of <br />the pile ensures positive drainage. <br />.,. <br />
