III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the inspection.
Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the
enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection of the Twin Pines No. 2 Mine conducted by Susan Burgmaier of CDMG.
The inspection covered the coal sales area of the site. Weather conditions were cloudy with lightning,
thunder, and light rain. Ground conditions were fairly dry.
The sediment pond held water well below the discharge level. It did not appear that the pond had
discharged recently. The silt fence at the west end of the site had slipped down on its stakes, but
remained keyed in at the ground. The fence was repaired during the inspection.
Vegetation on the reclaimed areas is coming in well. At least two different grasses were apparent,
and a number of fortis. Weeds in the area do not appear to be a major problem. Erosion was minimal
prior to vegetation establishment.
GB 3 ~oS$
(e~ ZQ Iq}
