III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the
inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or
evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection conducted by Joe Dudash of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety. No one represented the operator during the inspection. There had been a recent snowfall of a little over
one foot in the azea but 6 to 8 inches of snow remained on the ground at the time of the inspection.
Roads
The Hubbazd Creek road was recently graded and was in good condition. The mine site entrance road and the
light use road to Pond 5 were graded and were passable. The front gate to the mine site was closed and locked.
Signs and Markers
The mine ID sign was up on the front gate and contained the correct information. The records location sign was
also up on the front gate.
Hydrology
Pond 4 and the road culvert that leads into it were completely covered in snow. Pond 5 was also covered in
snow. The collection ditch leading into Pond 5 was snow covered but appeared to have sufficient capacity.
Underdrain pipes were covered in snow as well. The two Hubbard Creek culverts were functional.
Reclamation
The backfilled and graded mine site was covered in snow. There were no obvious signs of slope instability.
c:/word/blueribbon/insp1206
