III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection of the Coal Gulch Mine conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division <br />of Minerals and Geology. <br />The permit for this mine was revoked more than l0 years ago. DMG's IML program had reclamation work done <br />on the site in September 1994. <br />Vehicle access from Hwy. 160 into the Coal Gulch site was blocked with a cable. It was raining during the <br />inspection. <br />Hvdroloeic Balance <br />As previously noted in past inspections, there was a trickle of mine drainage into the lower pond from the nearby <br />hillside. The water level in the lower pond was approximately 6 feet below the primary spillway culvert. The <br />pond's embankment dam appear in good shape. <br />Reve¢etation <br />Vegetation has browned up. No problems were found. <br />Slides and Damaee <br />No new slope stability problems or erosion was evident <br />
