c~. <br />III. GOMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete quarterly inspection of the reclaimed Fruita mine permit revocation site, <br />conducted by Dan Mathews of the DRMS Grand Junction Field Office. Weather was clear and very <br />warm. Surface soils were dry. The sediment pond contained no water; pond bottom was dry. <br />With the exception of seasonal stage of plant growth, site conditions appeared to be essentially <br />unchanged from those described in the inspection report of May 23, 2006. Regional precipitation has <br />been normal or above normal since mid-July, and there was evidence of some runoff in reclaimed <br />channels, but there did not appear to have been any further rill and gully development, or increase in <br />the extent of channel or hillslope erosion. Sediment pond and associated spillway structure were as <br />described in the March 27, 2006 inspection. <br />
