III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the <br />inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or <br />evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection flown by the Colorado DMG on February 20, 2003. The <br />digital images were reviewed on Febrttary 21, 2003. There were no compliance problems <br />observed during the overflight. <br />Facilities <br />The flat facilities azea was almost completely free of snow cover. There was some snow <br />on the reclaimed mine access road and portals azea. The paved haul road and the bridge <br />were in good condition and passable. No problems were observed with the office <br />building. <br />Hvdroloev <br />The sediment pond had a moderate amount of water in it, presumably from snowmelt. It <br />did not appeaz that the water level was up to or above the primary dischazge structure. <br />The pond embankment appeazed to be stable. The collection ditch that feeds into the <br />sediment pond was free of snow and appeazed to be functional. <br />The water level in the Edwazds Portal spring water treatment pond was ahnost up to the <br />horizontal pipe.
