Seneca II West Mine; pg. 2
En route to the North Block, Pits C & D, we stopped and made general observations of shrub
clump transplant areas and areas which were being prepared for shrub establishment this fall.
Erosion was minimal on topsoiled areas observed. Overburden stripping is completed in the
North Block with coal remaining in the last cut of Pit C. Mr. Altavilla pointed out gading stakes
which indicate the amount of spoil which teas to be relocated between the two pits to establish the
approved final contours and drainageways for this area. This area accounts for the majority of
gading work to be completed on the mine. The permittee is in compliance with the reclamation
schedule for the North Block as approved in the permit (Exhibit 19-1 & Table 19-1 ). Possible
future mine plan modifications could include development of a long-wall undergound mine entry
in the Pit C final cut. This concluded the field inspection.
Please address any questions/comments concerning this report to Henry Austin at (303) 844-
1466.
