III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division). This mine is rn permanent cessation and <br />reclamation of most areas is complete. George Patterson of Energy Fuels Mining Company <br />IEFMC) was present during the later portion of the inspection. Ground conditions were dry <br />and the weather was excellent. <br />Hvdrologic Balance <br />For the first trine in many years. both Ponds 4 and 5 held water from recent rain events. <br />Pond 5 held a modest pool of water while pond 4 held water only ~n puddles in the bottom. <br />No evidence of discharge was noted, although pond water was murky indicating relatively <br />recent inflows, <br />.. • <br />._ • ~ i' • <br />~ ~ . <br />~ i. ~ i. <br />~.'M ~ ter. No evidence of storm runoff in the diversion was noted. <br />Revegetatron <br />Due to excellent Spring growing conditions, the revegetated area is responding accordingly. <br />Western wheatgrass and cicer mdkvetch, in particular, are enjoying the recent cool and rainy <br />conditions. Evidence indicates continued grazing by a small herd of elk. <br />Areas where annuals weeds dominated early following reseeding are now dominated by <br />grasses and fortis, as shown in the photograph below right. <br />
