III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
the gullies extends for a distance of approximately 100 feet further to the south, with intermittent
segments incised up to two feet deep.
Summery
Noxious weed infestation in the lower A and B pit area is much less severe than in the D
Pit area, and black henbane does not appear to be present. However, Canada thistle and
bull thistle are present in the area, and there are several dense patches, particularly on the
steep south facing B Pit slopes, where herbicide application will be necessary this fall.
There are also hillslope gullies present in some locations that need to be repaired, as well as
minor scour in permanent channel segments that require riprap repair or installation. Most,
but not all of the gully areas that need repair have been delineated on the 2005 Rill and
Gully Survey Map.
6
