A pre-operation inspection was made of the proposed Lake County gravel pit 112 conversion <br />area. Present during the inspection was Mr. Steve Kleeberger of the Lake County Road ~ <br />Bridge Dept. <br />2. The applicant has proposed an expansion of the existing Lake County gravel pit from 5.9 <br />to 55.97 acres under the terms of a 112 conversion. The proposed 55.97 acre permit area was <br />inspected. The conversion area as well as the current 110(2) permit area was well marked. <br />All mining disturbances were found to be well within the 110(2) permit area. <br />3. The operator has done a good job of contemporaneous reclamation for existing pit <br />disturbance by backfill and grading disturbed slopes to 1:1 or less as much as possible. The <br />current pit disturbance consists of excavation into a west-facing hillside. <br />4. Signs and markers were posted as required by Rule 3.1.12. <br />5. There will be no fuel or oil storage on site. There are no surface or groundwater <br />concerns. <br />6.
