Compliance with Colorado Surface Coal ,fining Reclamation Act <br />CRS 1973, as amended 34-33-ZOI, et. sic., <br />and the <br />Rules and RecuZa tons Issued Pursuant to the Act <br />this includes a Zistiag of the particular provisions of t9e regulatety program which were <br />examined during the course of this inspect=on, and identtt_'es enforcement actions taken <br />during the inspection for °ailure to comply wi th the Rules and Regulations, the Rct and <br />the permit. <br />4.02 Signs and Markers <br />All signs and markers were appropriately placed. The operators are waiting for the <br />outcome of the sale of the mine before changing the permit number nn the entrance sign. <br />When the status of the sale is known, all appropriate changes will be made to tl~e sign. <br />4.03 Roads <br />Road surfaces were dry and well' maintained. <br />4.05 Hydrologic Balance <br />Approximately !~ to one foot of snow cover obscured most of the upper diversion ditch. <br />Some portions of the ditch which were visible were intact. <br />Shaker pans at the upper and lower benches have been propped to compensate for settling. <br />The concrete inlets to these shaker pans have been repaired. <br />The inlet end of the trickle tube at the sediment pond was covered :pith ice and snow. <br />The outlet end appeared to be relatively free of obstruction. <br />4.15 Revegetation <br />Vegetation cover was fair to good along the lower diversion ditch below the mine. New <br />seedlings were emerging at places along the diversion. Seedlings were also noted on <br />topsoil stockpiles and the pond embankment. <br />
