The operator has installed the upstream alluvial monitoring well as approved
in TR-09. The well is 2-inch PVC like the downstream well on the
Baumgartel's property. Caps were in place on both wells.
REVEGETATION
Vegetative cover has browned up since June. Although vegetative cover in the
yard area is of moderate density, it does not appear as sparse as it did in
the aerial photos examined for last month's aerial inspection. Grasses in
the yard area and on the office SAE channel appeared more sparse than last
summer. Shrubs near the SAE channel appeared to have been heavily browsed.
The forb, Muellien, is fairly abundant among the orchardgrass in the yard
area. The operator has sprayed patches of Canada thistle above the
embankment on the north side of the county road; the thistle has died off.
SLIDES AND DAMAGE
No problems were apparent on the office SAE backfill slope or on the portal
bench. The old liner fabric discarded at the toe of the channel should be
removed. The pile of rocks there should be removed; some of the rocks could
be left for erosional control at the toe of the channel.
Page 4
