<br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-79-195 <br />INSPECTION DATE 3/9/2001 <br />ZNSPECTOR'S INITIALS TAS <br />the operator and/or landowner complete one of the following corrective actions within the <br />next 60 days: <br />A. Provide written correspondence from the OSE which verifies compliance with all of their <br />permitting requirements for existing dewatering, dry mining, and water management practices <br />at the Road Runners Rest ZI Pit. <br />B. Backfill all pit excavations to an elevation that is at least two (2) feet above the <br />natural groundwater elevation. Based on basline data for adjacent permitted operations, the <br />Division estimates this elevation to be four (4) feet below the original ground surface. <br />(The Division has calculated a volume of 3,629,250 cubic yards required for backfilling. The <br />Division estimates there are 200,000 cubic yards of material on-site available for <br />backfilling. The remaining deficit of 3,429,250 cubic yards will need to be purchased and <br />imported from off-site). <br />C. Submit a financial warranty adequate to cover the cost of backfilling the pit excavation <br />to an elevation that is at least four (4) feet within the original ground surface. The <br />Division has calculated a total reclamation cost of $29,765,600 to bac kf ill the pit with <br />available and imported materials. Please see attached calculations and reclamation cost <br />estimate. <br />Please see pages 4 and 5 for corrective actions.
