The first single CMP culvert west of Mann <br />Draw was partially filled with sediment and requires cleaning. Road embankments <br />have been smoothed and disced and are to be seeded this week. (October 26-30) <br />4.04 Support Facilities <br />A new storage shed has been constructed next to the mine office trailer. <br />4.05 Hydrologic Balance <br />Ditches and berms were in good condition. PondC(denoted as Pond E in last month's <br />inspection report) contained very little water, thougl, the Division is still con- <br />cerned that the pond does not meet permanent program standards. Embankments of <br />ponds A, 8, and H should be reseeded this autumn. Ponds A, B, and H were dry at the <br />time of the inspection. <br />4.06 Topsoil <br />Topsoil stockpile B is currently being added to. A ditch and/or berm should be con- <br />structed around the base of topsoil stockpile B. Topsoil stockpile A is to be seeded <br />this fall. A sufficient berm has been established around the saline-sodic topsoil <br />stockpile to prevent contamination. <br />4.09 Excess Spoil <br />Construction of the East Dump has begun. The operator is cautioned that construction <br />of the East Dump must be in accordance with the provisions of the permit set forth <br />in pages 8R(A) and 8R(B). <br />4.15 Revegetation <br />Pond embankments and road embankments had been prepared for seeding. <br />4.28 Support Facilities Not Located At Or Near The Minesite <br />The proposed Northgate loadout was inspected. A barbed wire fence was being constructed <br />along the railway. The operator stated that the railroad was constructing the fence <br />to exclude cattle. <br />
