• (Page 2) •
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-92-007
INSPECTION DATE 07-15-99 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS CBM
OBSERVATIONS
This was a monitoring inspection done by Carl Mount as part of the Division
of Minerals and Geology routine inspection program. Photographs were taken
of the permitted area and surrounding areas. The site disturbance was
evaluated and determined to be included within the marked permit area.
This pit has a large stockpile of roadbase material in the middle of the pit
and has been essentially mined out. This pit will be the subject of a
conversion to a 112 regular permit in the near future. Brush and topsoil has
been pushed to the lower part of the hill that this pit is located on which
will make it a challenge to redistribute the topsoil when reclamation is
being done. The operator wishes to extend the pit to the south and mine out
the rest of the hill in that direction.
A problem was noted with accelerated erosion at this site. Water is running
out of the pit to the northeast and carrying sediment down the road ditch and
into an ephemeral drainage. This problem needs to be addressed within 120
days of this inspection report or by November 19, 1999. The operator may use
the conversion application to address this problem. See PB 1 below.
No problems were noted during this inspection with the exception of the accelerated
erosion and sedimentation.
I & E Contact Address cc:
^ CE ^ HW
NAME Mr. Marvin Moore ^ BL ^ HMWMD (CH)
OPERATOR Moffat County ^ FS ^ SE
STREET P.O.
