<br /> <br /> <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # <br />INSPECTION DATE 9/21/99 <br />(Page 2) <br />M-97-086 <br />OBSERVATIONS <br /> <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS AJW <br />This was a pre-operational inspection conducted by Tony Waldron of DMG along with Ferd <br />Mueller of Siloam Stone. The site is located approximately 25 miles southwest of Pueblo, <br />Colorado approximately halfway between Colorado Highways 76 and 96 on Siloam Road. The site <br />is essentially a sandstone mesa that abuts against the wet mountains to the west and slopes <br />gently to the northeast. The site is bisected by Siloam Road which runs in a north-south <br />direction and is bounded on the north by Red Creek Road. <br />The mine identification sign was posted at the entrance to the mine site and contained the <br />required information and the permit area was clearly marked. Mining to date on the Bedrock <br />Mine has consisted almost entirely of surface picking moss rock, however, the quarry <br />operation from the adjacent Pinon Mine has recently started to encroach onto the Bedrock <br />Mine. The disturbance to date from this encroachment is less than one acre and the mine is <br />allowed 15 acres of quarry disturbance. In addition, an area to the east of the Pinon Mine <br />that has been surface picked, has started to transistion into a small quarry. This area is <br />also considerably less than one acre and the operation is allowed 5 acres of this type of <br />disturbance. The final area that has been disturbed is in the area that is marked pre-law. <br />Some rock picking and removal has occurred in the area between the Siloam Clay Mine and the <br />Pinon Mine. Since this area has been disturbed, the full requirements of reclamation for the <br />rest of the site will also apply to any pre-law areas that are disturbed. Currently this <br />disturbance is less than 1 acre.
