III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was an aerial inspection conducted by Harry Ranney and Tom Kaldenbach of the
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. Harry shot eight aerial photos of the site on
12/31/00. He found no evidence of compliance problems at the mine site during the flight.
The photos cover the east end of the mine.
Tom examined the photos. The photos show much of the site to be under snow cover. The
new ponds Middle Flume #1 and #3. and East Middle Flume #1, appear to hold only small
amounts of water, although snow cover limits visibility.
Draglines are located in F-pit and A-pit. There were no more than three spoil ridges at
the two pits. in compliance with Trapper's approved operation plan. The area stripped
ahead of the pits also appears in compliance with the operation plan. No dust was
evident and no new slides were found. No compliance problems were evident in the photos.
Page 3
