PROSPECTING ID k M-79-145 <br />INSPECTION DATE_February 26, 1999 <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS TAS <br />The Following problems (PB) and/or possible violations (PV) (and suggested corrective <br />actions) were identified during this inspection. The problems should be corrected by the <br />dates given, or they will become possible violations. The possible violations should be <br />corrected by the dates given to reduce their severity when considered by the Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board. The inspector noted on the previous page should be notified of all <br />corrective actions taken. <br />PROBLEMS/POSSIBLE VIOLATIONS <br />AND <br />CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br />CORRECTION <br />DATE <br />1. There are a number of infestations of noxious weeds on April 17, 1999 <br />site, ie: diffuse knapweed and musk thistle. Rule <br />3.1.10(6) requires that these noxious weeds be controlled. <br />CORRECTIVE MEASURES PB or PV PB <br />Submit a weed control plan for diffuse knapweed and musk TOPIC(S) RV <br />thistle in the form of a technical revision to the permit. <br />The weed control plan should specify method(s) of treatment <br />and include a schedule of when various treatments will be <br />applied. <br />2. There was a spill of anti-freeze and an uncontained April 17, 1999 <br />5-gallon pail nearly full of used motor oil in the <br />equipment boneyard area. The anti-freeze spill and used <br />oil are in close proximity to the mined pit and <br />associated water system. Rule 3.1.5(5) requires that <br />all refuse and acid forming or toxic materials be <br />handled and disposed of in a manner that will protect <br />the drainage system from pollution. <br />CORRECTIVE MEASURES PB or PV PB <br />Remove and properly dispose of all used motor oil and TOPIC(S) AT <br />anti-freeze contaminated soil. Submit a short narrative <br />of disposal procedues used and photographs to verify the <br />removal of these materials. <br />
