v. ~ (Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-97-058
INSPECTION DATE 11-25-97
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GC
This was a pre-operational inspection conducted with Dave Mills, Plant Manager for Hall-Irwin. The
site consists of open pasture. The site was accessed through the southern portion of Phase 2 where
the entrance road, office and processing area will be located. Permanent man-made structures within
200 feet of the proposed permit boundary observed on or near the proposed permit area include an
overhead power line and easement, East 168th St., nearby homes, ditches, oil and gas wells, tank
batteries, and fences. These have already been identified in the application.
Pursuant to Rule 6.3.12, the operator will need to provide notarized agreements with the owners of
structures within 200 feet of the mining operation stating that compenstion will be provided for any
damage to those strucures or provide an engineering evaluation which shows that the structures will
not be impacted during mining. The operator can also provide notarized waivers from the owners of
any structures which allow the mining activities within 200 feet of the structures.
Topsoil was measured in two places in Phase 2. The first spot was located in the central portion of
Phase 2. The hole bottomed out at approximately 11 inches without reaching the base of the topsoil.
The second hole was dug further south in Phase 2 and went approximately 16" deep without reaching the
bottom of the topsoil.
The land adjacent to the east, west and north consists of agricultural, pasture and ranch land. Along
the southern border is East 168th St. and an active sand and gravel mine operated by Hall-Irwin
Construction. Present and past use of the proposed permit area was for agriculture or grazing. There
was no sign of past mining oz excavating in the proposed permit area.
I S E Contact Address
^ CE
NAME Mr. Jeff Greca ^ BL
OPERATOR Hall-Irwin Construction Co. ^ FS
STREET P.O.
