(Page 2) <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn_~e~v_~9v <br />INSPECTION DATE: d_7 s_n~ INSPECTORS INITIALS: ~D.- <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />Completed apre-operation inspection of the amended acreage pursuant to requirements of Rule 3.2(7). <br />The current permit area contains 35 acres. By this amendment application, the operator is adding 7.35 acres on <br />the south side of the permit boundary. <br />Mining operations are occurring west and east of the proposed amended acreage. The operator removes <br />several feet of overburden (including several inches of topsoil) in order to access the clay product. The clay is <br />mined, stockpiled and then transported to the plant as needed. Topsoil and overburden are stockpiled and <br />used for reclamation. <br />Parts of the eastern permit area have been adequately graded and remain stable. <br />The proposed amended acreage is comprised of three moderately forested knolls and a gently sloping well <br />vegetated hillside.
