(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M 1986-ion
INSPECTION DATE: A~~gusr ~q~ m

INSPECTORS INITIALS: GI A
The Universal Peat Sand and Gravel operation is a 110 permit mining sand and gravel, located approximately 2 miles
southwest of Jefferson in Park County Colorado north of State Highway 285, The mine is conducted as a dry mine, mining
approximately 9 feet of alluvial gravel on the north end of South Park.
This inspection was conducted as a follow-up to verify the location of boundary markers and evaluate the operation for
compliance with the mining plan. In a previous inspection on August 15, 2001, a problem with boundary markers was
identified which led to this inspection. In this inspection it was found that the operator had mined outside of the permit area
and that the area in question had been re-graded and reclaimed. The operator has conducted a considerable amount of
reclamation immediately following mining in order to minimize the disturbed area.
It was determined by this inspector's discussion with the operator that the extent of mining outride the permit area is
relatively small and that a similar sized parcel had remained un-mined which could be exchanged for the area outside of the
permit.
This exchange of acreage can be accomplished by writing two separate letters:
(1) the operator requesting release of the un-mined portion of land in the southwest corner of the property and showing the
proposed release area on a map,
(2} the operator submitting a technical revision adding an area that will include all of the mining, together with a map of the
proposed new property boundaries. In the technical revision the operator needs to include a statement that says "the
operator waives the right to a 30 day decision in this matter'.
~~~~~ rn~ ~
I & E Contact Address ~~ )ln7D GOOD O(v89cc.
NAME: Mr. Merrill Wrioht
OPERATOR: Universal Peat Sand and Gravel
STREET: __P.O.
